What I Loved

   The promise is real — I used it as a pressure cooker, rice maker, and sauté pan all within one cooking session without swapping to another appliance.
2. Time savings
   Several stews and braises came out tender in a fraction of the time compared to stovetop or slow-cooker methods.
3. Steady performance & predictable results
   The temperature control and built-in programs produced consistent results. No big surprises.
4. Solid everyday value
   For the features you get, the Instant Pot Duo remains competitively priced, especially when you factor in that it replaces multiple other gadgets.

What Was Less Ideal

1. Cleaning & lid parts
   The lid has several components — sealing ring, anti-block shield, vent — and cleaning them requires care. The inner pot and lid don’t always disassemble for easy scrubbing. TechGearLab also commented on this. 
2. Accessory limitations
   Unlike newer models, it doesn’t come with extras (like extra lids or air fryer attachments).
3. Slow-cook function isn’t stellar
   As other reviewers note, the slow-cook mode is serviceable but doesn’t match high-end standalone slow cookers.
4. Pressure valve visibility
   The viewing angle and position of the valve make it a bit awkward to check at a glance.

Final Verdict

Overall, the Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 continues to live up to much of its hype. It’s versatile, dependable, and cost-effective. While it has a few quirks — especially around cleaning and accessory support — it delivers on the promise of being a do-it-all cooker for everyday use.

If I were to give it a grade for Kitchetect readers, I’d call it 4 out of 5 stars, with the deduction mostly for modest accessory support and maintenance overhead.
